The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love all the family barbecues and get-togethers, the weather is usually pretty spectacular, and best of all....the fireworks. We've had the privilege of seeing fireworks on the 4th in many different places in our great country, but we were truly wowed by the ones in San Diego.
Since we are without family in our new city, there were no barbecues to attend. We could have gone back to Tucson to spend the 4th with friends, but decided to hang out here and check out the fireworks. We drove up to Cabrillo National Monument at the top of Point Loma which overlooks San Diego Bay and Coronado Island and had to wait for an excruciating long 3 hours for it to get dark. Why so early you ask? Location, location, location....the early bird get the best worm!
9 o'clock finally arrived and 4 barges of fireworks lit up San Diego Bay like nothing I've ever seen. Instant goose bumps! This was hands-down the best fireworks display I've ever seen. All of the pictures were taken by Pete, so all credit goes to him. Enjoy!
