Oh hell, it looks we are stuck on a theme.
Saturday led us down to Hell...dorado days in Tombstone. It's the anniversary of the OK Corral gunfight and a big to-do in Tombstone. Even today, there are still fights about who was right on that eventful day. People vehemently support both sides! Everyone gets all dressed up in their western duds and mosey on down to the saloons. It's like flipping a switch back to the 1880's.
Horses all over the place.....horse crap all over the place....and even some horse's asses all over the place. Of course, we were not one of the horse's asses.
The bars are overworked on these kinds of weekends....at least every one we went into (which was most of them!) At Big Nose Kate's, they got the bathtub out and filled it with ice & beer. Nice! Makes for quick access to that much needed ice-cold brew. Crystal Palace was so crowded, we couldn't even get in the door. So we moved on to Johnny Ringo's which was less crowded and cheaper beers. There's gunfights and shoot-outs and saloon girls and real marshalls all out in the street. If nothing else, it is definitely an interesting study in human behavior. Like to people watch? This is rich territory! Take a look at this dude for example.....Yikes!
All in all, a great, fun day. Stop by next week for the eagerly-awaited story of Ka-Ciao.
